Pasargardae is one of the first capitals of the Persian empire. Founded in the 6th century B.C. by Cyrus the Great, it is located near the city of Shiraz. Although, it is smaller and less well preserved that Persepolis it is still worth the visit because it is the site of the tomb of Cyrus the Great, one of the greatest emperors in history.
